Theme Teaching-Body-「身體」主題

When it comes to our bodies, students always have so many questions. Whether it’s about why people have different colored eyes, or body shapes, or why certain things happen like having sniffles when you cry, or the fact that we developed in our mother’s belly.

So, by teaching a body themed class, lessons will always ensure a lot of wonder and conversation as students not only get the opportunity to talk about different body parts, but they also get the opportunity to learn about various aspects related to our bodies. For Sunflower Class it was a great opportunity to firstly introduce this concept through a wonderful story book called "Various Bodies". In this book, our students could observe different human bodies and could learn about different races and bodies compared to that of their own.

 

After reading the story, the students were grouped together, and they could create a fun poster using their own bodies. They could choose a friend to lie down on a big sheet of poster paper, and then everyone could trace a section of his/her body, ending it off with creative decorations they could do to give this body more features and clothing. This activity was also extended into a much deeper exploration of what we can find inside our bodies. The teachers therefore printed the various organs and asked the students to color and arrange the organs in groups after teaching them the purpose of each organ. Through activities such as these, the students comprehend these topics much easier and it also allows them to apply their minds when learning valuable lessons on how valuable our bodies are and how much we need to not only respect our own bodies, but also the bodies of others.

「老師,為什麼我哭的時候會有鼻涕?」「老師,為什麼大便是長的?」「老師,您知道我是從媽媽的肚子裡面生出來的嗎?」

 

從第一堂身體主題課後,孩子們除了七嘴八舌的討論身體外,也非常天馬行空的想像身體狀態的各式面貌。 因此,我們以繪本-「各式各樣的身體」解開主題課程的序幕,在繪本裡,我們讓孩子觀察各國人種的身體及顏色外,也讓孩子使用鏡子觀察自己的長相並說出來與別人的異同處。

 

第一個活動我們進行了團體創作-「我眼睛看到的身體」,我們先讓一個孩子躺在海報上,並讓其他孩子輪流將其外觀用黑筆描塗出來,基本的四肢外型就完成了基本構圖,也讓孩子進行撕貼畫幫身體穿上可愛的衣服並使用毛線一根一根黏上當成頭髮,之後再將臉貼上後,獨一無二的身體第一個藝術創作就完成了。

 

結束了外觀身體後,我們進行了認識體內器官的活動,我們列印了各項器官,並讓每個孩子分組進行塗色及排列器官的活動,藉由這樣的活動,孩子們更能清楚的明白每個器官在身體內所負責的工作以及如何運作這項工作,孩子們都覺得身體內藏有這麼多臟器,感到非常新奇呢!

 

在這個主題中,除了讓孩子認識身體的外觀及內部臟器外,我們也在尊重別人的身體這部分進行了團體的討論及引導,每個人身體都是屬於自己的,那麼又該如何尊重別人的身體及尊重自己的身體也是非常重要的學習喔!
