Open House activities not only creates great opportunities for parents to be part of their child’s learning, but it also helps to improve a child’s achievement and happiness, inside and outside of the classroom, as discussions and questions about a student’s day becomes more relatable.

There is an abundance of research concerning the importance of parental involvement in children’s education and even during the ongoing pandemic, it was still important for our school to allow for parents to access our classrooms under regulated circumstances and requirements. In all levels, Open House activities have always been one of the main forums for the enhancement of communication between teachers and parents and they are crucial for strong relationships between the two parties who are chiefly concerned with a child’s academic and personal development. For parents, these activities provide greater details about challenges occurring in the classroom and will allow them to understand how they may be able to address these challenges outside of school, after experiencing their child’s growth and behavior in a classroom environment. Thank you to all our wonderful parents who have taken the time to spend some time with us.

大家都知道我們所居住的地球長甚麼樣嗎?!!

那九大行星是哪些呢?

這次我們準備主題為「地球」－它是太陽系中唯一表面有液態水存在的行星，也是目前唯一適合人類居住的星球。老師拿出地球儀，讓孩子們實際看到地球的全貌。孩子們看著地球儀上的直橫線，好奇舉起手發問，這些線是什麼？在地球儀上一條條縱橫交錯的線，這就是經緯線。在課程的活動中，老師還利用酪梨的模型來模擬地球與地函，把酪梨核籽當作地球的內部。老師也利用燃燒蠟燭滴下來的蠟滴，並待其冷卻後再讓孩子觸摸，讓孩子們能觸摸到岩石熔融後成為地函的狀況。看起來似乎艱深的地球知識，在這樣實際的操作及觸摸下，讓今天的課程，似乎不再枯燥乏味，孩子們在樂趣學習中更認識我們居住的地球。

為了讓家長更了解孩子在學校的學習概念及班級每日運行的狀況，學校每學年都會舉辦一至兩次不等的教學觀摩日。即便在疫情期間，學校嚴格把關環境的安全與全面評估，希望藉由實際參與課堂活動，提高孩子在課堂內外的成就感與幸福感！老師與家長在學校與家庭的分工合作能針對每個孩子給予適當的幫助。

配合政府防疫措施，家長也十分配合的填報相關防疫措施表單並分流登記觀摩梯次，以利班級教學觀摩日的到來。教學觀摩時，家長除了關注學習狀況、教學方式與個別發展的引導外，更體驗到孩子在課堂環境氛圍與老師的帶領之下，激發的潛能超乎我們的想像！這次帶大家看看大班的新發現！
