We at Wagor Lai Cuo always try our very best to make daunting tasks a little bit easier for parents. That is why every semester, a special arrangement is made by the school for a professional dentist to come to school to not only teach about oral hygiene, but also do a fluoride inspection. We believe that the more children interact with these professionals, the less scared they will be and a visit to the dentist will inevitably become a fun experience for them.

During this semester’s dentist’s visit, the gentle dentist first introduced the structure of the teeth, how to maintain the cleanliness of the teeth, and also demonstrated how to brush one’s teeth correctly. At the same time, the students (and teachers) were reminded to brush their teeth after eating and before going to bed. The dentist even had a few surprises for our students and played a game where students could answer questions to win some prizes. Our students were very motivated and enthusiastic because they are all super smart and listened to everything the dentist said. Taking good care of our teeth is of vital importance after all, and who knows it better than everyone here. Keep on smiling everyone!

擔心寶貝蛀牙？寶貝總是不肯好好刷牙？爸爸媽媽們的擔憂我們都了解，每個學期學校特別安排專業牙醫師到校園進行口腔衛教及牙齒塗氟的檢查。溫柔的牙醫師先介紹牙齒的結構、如何維持牙齒的清潔，也教導孩子如何正確的刷牙，同時提醒孩子們用餐後及睡前也一定要刷牙，好好的愛護牙齒哦！牙醫師也從生活上的範例教導孩子們，例如：吃哪些食物容易讓可怕的蛀牙蟲找上我們。透過衛教讓孩子們更加了解潔牙的重要性。活動最後牙醫師舉辦活潑有趣的有獎徵答，孩子們十分踴躍舉手回答問題，看來都有把牙醫阿姨的話聽進去囉！

兒童口腔保健的重要性

1. 減少零食的數量
大多有蛀牙的小朋友，都喜歡吃零食或喝含糖飲料，而這些都是導致孩童蛀牙的最大因素，想要避免小朋友有蛀牙，有賴家長限制小朋友吃含糖量高的零食。

2. 及早發現及早治療
因為對口腔檢查治療有恐懼，小朋友口腔疾病一般都不容易表達出來，家長也容易忽略小朋友的口腔健康，通常都要等到小朋友牙痛才會帶小朋友就醫，但若能定時做口腔檢查，提早發現，就能及早治療。

3. 學習正確的刷牙方式
口腔清潔做得好，牙齒就自然會健康。早中晚餐後各刷一次牙，尤其是睡前一定要刷牙，平時在外不方便刷牙時，也要漱口清潔，確保嘴裡沒有食物殘渣。正確的做好口腔清潔。教導小朋友正確的刷牙方式。

4. 選擇適合的牙刷及牙膏

選擇適合小朋友用的牙刷，刷毛挑偏柔軟的材質，清潔同時能呵護乳牙和牙齦；刷柄大小設計貼合小朋友的手，容易抓握。牙膏的選擇可以選擇使用兒童專用牙膏，口感較為溫和舒適，每三個月更換新牙刷。
